About

Throughout the last several years, it has become more and more apparent that our country has historically excluded people of color from having equal opportunities in health care, education, employment, and justice. Unfortunately, the effects of America's past continue to affect brown and black individuals. Therefore, change is imperative in order to "level the playing field!"

Move to Make a Difference

As movement specialists, we have the opportunity to partner our passion for movement with our passion for change. Last year, we were rocked to our core by the images of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor and we felt something had to be done. We worked together to come up with a tangible way for anyone inspired by our cause to take action alongside us. In an effort to make a difference in the fight to protect and advance the rights of our fellow coworkers, friends, and patients, we set out to Move to Make a Difference! We were able to raise and donate over $6,000 to the Houston Area Urban League in an effort to effect change.

Houston Area Urban League

The Houston Area Urban League (HAUL) was organized in June, 1968 as a nonprofit 501(c)3 agency. Affiliated with the United Way and National Urban League, HAUL advocates for and provides social services to disadvantaged people of all races, gender, age groups and or disabilities. HAUL operates the following five (5) programs targeting residents in economically disadvantaged geographic areas in the Greater Houston areas: Education and Youth Development; Workforce and Economic Development; Workforce Training; Housing; and Health and Wellness Initiatives.
